Specialized Services

Urology is the specialty that treat problems involving the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive organs. Urologists provide care throughout the human life cycle — from newborns to elderly. Because of the broad range of clinical problems they encounter, Urologists have a familiarity with many other medical fields — such as internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, geriatrics and oncology — in addition to surgical training. The expertise of the Urology Department at Lily Hospitals covers the spectrum of Clinical Urology.

The Urology Department at Lily Hospitals offers comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for adult and pediatric urological conditions. Patients with kidney stones are treated with minimally invasive stone removal techniques, and are medically evaluated to determine risk factors for recurrent stone formations.

Lily Urology Centre which is a unique centre for Urology in Nigeria is equipped with:

  • Electronic operating table for the theatre suitable for all urological procedures
  • C-Arm for endourological procedures to be monitored under fluoroscopy
  • Laser device for use in most of the urological procedures
  • Bipolar diathermy device for resection of prostate and bladder tumours
  • Pediatric endoscopy sets for some pediatric diseases
  • Uroflowmetry device to measure urine flow rate and for diagnosis of bladder oulet obstruction
