Counselling

In Lily Hospitals provide our patients opportunity to explore, discover and clarify ways of living more resourcefully and with a greater sense of well-being. Our highly skilled Counselors are also concerned with addressing and resolving specific problems, making decisions, coping with crisis, working through conflict, or improving patients’ relationships with other people around them (friends , family members and work colleagues).

Conditions that will need counselling

Medical/clinical conditions that we counsel patients on are:
Pre and post HIV counselling
Depression
Anxiety
Diabetes
Hypertension
Palliative care in terminal diseases
DNA counselling / testing
Family planning
Surgical conditions that will need counseling
Pre and post operations counselling in patients with psychological instability (anxious patients, depressed patients)
Patient undergoing any form of surgery whereby there will be removal of any part of the body (mastectomy, hemicolectomy, thyroidectomy, amputations, hysterectomy, bilateral tubal ligation, vasectomy etc)
Patients undergoing any surgical procedure whereby there will be physiological or anatomic process alteration (e.g. colostomy, cystostomy, thoracostomy, external bone fixation
Surgical iatrogenic cases (e.g. fistulas, perforation, etc)Miscellaneous /Social conditions that will need counselling:
Domiciliary visits
Financial Constraint
Child abuse
Rape cases / sexual harassment
Drug (substance) / alcohol abuse

Our Counsellors counsel on the following health issues: HIV counselling, Stress and anxiety, depression, relationship and/or self esteem problems; patients that need bereavement counselling, DNA counselling and testing, Family Planning counselling.
